The Residence
This kitchen and dining room is designed around a single long timber table. Everything else — cabinetry, stone, lighting — is kept quiet so that the table and the people around it become the focus.
Floor-to-ceiling glazing on one side and a fluted timber column on the other frame the room, while the kitchen run sits back as a calm, continuous wall.
Project Overview
The kitchen is a single run of flush, handle-less taupe cabinetry with an integrated extraction unit, set against a stone backsplash whose bold veining acts as the room’s artwork. Concealed lighting beneath the upper cabinets washes the stone.
In front, a pale timber dining table with a bench and individual chairs seats the household informally. A fluted timber column with integrated linear light marks the transition to the rest of the home.
Design Language
The language is natural minimalism: a narrow range of materials, visible timber grain, and furniture with simple, honest joinery. Terrazzo underfoot adds fine texture without colour.
